Thanks for you comments. I didn't say anything had been proved, I said it was "established fact" which as you correctly point out is only established by observation, experimentation, repeatability and reliability. The argument is somewhat different though. Whereas the processes resulting in you car starting every morning could change sending us back to the drawing board, whether evolution is happening now is not the issue. We just need to know if it DID happen or not in the past. It is simply a matter of history, not science.
