Fiona, most young people in Castlebar will tell you that there is nothing for them to do! we have let them down badly i dont blame them, all they see is their parents making the most important place in life the Pub, since the school holidays started (in fact to early children in Uk are still in school till end of July) there are no activities laid on for them, if they want to to swimming they have to pay, they cant go bowling every day, i know most parents i meet are at their wits ends trying to occupy youngsters, in Holland where i came from, at the start of school holidays all sports centres are free to children till term time begins again, also each town provides free rambles, hikes, sports competions free for their town children, every thing here in Ireland has to be paid for what parent can afford all this? the school holidays should not have sarted till end of July, and even then schools should be open to provide activeities for youngsters, i agree with you from the youngsters i know here there are great well mannered, thee will always be the odd few that cause trouble, but lets be honest there is nothing for them in Castlebar, i for one am not surprised some cause trouble
