I accept what you're saying to a certain extent and I do think the reporting on yesterday's mornings papers was the lowest of the low scraping of the barrel and deeply offensive to his innocent wife and grown up family (not children as they've been continiously been referred to in the media - another example of shoddiness in the reporting of this).

It's interesting how much the mood, and I would include even myself to a degree, has swung in his favour and to rememberence of him as something of an amusing rogue because of this charachter assasination. Unfortunate to a degree that the base actions of the papers deferred attention and focus away from the corruption aspect and the reputation they set out to totally destroy and discredit may actually lead to his partial posthumous rehabilitation.
