One good thing about Castlbar is theres plenty of laneways and shortcuts for pedestrians to use to get away from the traffic -at least in the older parts of town.

But there definitely needs to be more thought put into pedestrian comfort and safety in our towns and cities -after all even drivers become pedestrians once we park our cars especially those who make a point of parking outside the centre of town to avoid the ripoff charges
