If the reason really was 'Health and Safety' why did they propose turning it into a library and have people parking outside it every day of the week? Surely they would only add bookworms to the list of infestations? Now they have drunken student nurses walking in and out at all hours of the day or night - marginally worse than the lunatics who used to inhabit St. Mary's.

In health and safety there is always and element of risk assessment. For example. Which is the greater risk:

1. Leaving people sitting on trolleys in Accident and emergency for days on end.
2. Allowing people to go to Mass nearby on a Sunday?
3. Hosting the Irish Dancinc Championships just across the road when 10,000 people descend on the TF
4. Allowing funeral parking in the morgue just next to the hospital for at least two hours at a time pretty much every evening of the winter when people on trolleys who kick the bucket because they are ignored too long and end up in the morgue?
5. Spending hundreds of thousands of taxpayers money on fighting stupid court cases instead of prioritising that money into real life-saving measures?

No Wonder the Health Boards were abolished! Get Real sonny.
