The corruption in local government in this country is limited to Dublin City Council. Correct me if I am wrong! Your attitude is what rots politics. If you want to change it announce your candidact for 2009 on an anti-corruption campaign. Go for it.

If not don't keep dragging corruption into every debate on empowering local government.

Who threw it all away?

Local Government would not go along with the Governments plans for incinerators so the Government took the powers away from them.

It had NOTHING to do with local government being unable to make HARD Decisions!
