If production of ethanol consumed more energy than it produced it would be an entirely pointless exercise. In any case we are ALREADY using ethanol to power our cars. Unleaded petrol has a couple of percent ethanol (the ethanol is used as a substitute for lead) While out in Brazil the cars run on between 40% and 96% ethanol/petrol mix (they still put some petrol in there to stop the wino's trying to drink it!) Nuclear power is pure idiocy (ask the residents of Ukraine or Belarus) the Iranians want it for the same reason as the Americans or British (i.e. as a front for the production of plutonium for military purposes) why else would a country with all that oil be bothered with it ?
