This debate started when a contribtor accused a mother of 'drugging' her children. The same contributor then referred to a web page whose main puprose seemed to be the selling of videos saying that ADHD is imaginary and does not respond to drugs and that drugs should not be used to treat the symptoms because basically the child was badly behaved and that was that. We take lots of drugs to treat symptoms rather than causes. The hard science provides the physical basis for the condition. The soft science approach may suggest different ways to treat the symptoms but it's highly unlikely that admonishing a mother for bringing her child up carelessly will solve a fetal oxygen deprivation problem which is biochemically based.
I would still like to see the multi-peer reviewed book -(if such really exists) or article in a hard science or even soft science journal that supports the 'bad parent' model of ADHD and clarly discounts an underlying physical cause?
