Check out the Prime Time programme from a few weeks back - could still be in the RTE archive. They showed documentation that they claimed showed clearly that dealers were being penalised for discounting - competing against each other in other words. Apparently it's a criminal offence to operate a cartel - using that word advisedly. It only applied to certain brands. Of course we will still keep forking out no matter what. VRT was supposed to be abolished too - yeah right!
