You are right, just like its an excuse by some to get completly off their heads on drink on the Feast day itself, its total disrespect but there is nothing you can do about it, its gone to far, one Priest told me a few years ago, that St Patrick had little love for the Irish, thats why he he invented long walks up the Reek, and Lough Derg and long penances, so i suppose we are getting our own back on him, by young and old getting off their heads and and orgy of trouble later, nice way to celebrate the Saints day if he was alive today i bet he would get back to Wales where he was born as quick as he could
