Aluminium is lethal to fish - that's what acid rain that plaqued Norway and Sweden for years is all about. No fish because aluminium is lethal to them where the waters are acidic. The acid from the sulphur released from our power stations is washed out by the rain further acidified by the pine needles and then it leaches the aluminium out of the soil killing fish. Things are getting better though because of low sulphur fuels but aluminium is a bad thing.
