Look what happened in the States. Mentioning weight has become taboo for fear of triggering anorexia. I kid you not. Anorexia affects mainly middle/upper class women but as these are the type that fill daytime American TV it became seen as an affliction of epidemic proportions, at least to the public. To avoid rich ladies getting anorexia the 'big is beautiful campaign' appeared along with 'big boned' and every other excuse for accepting obesity as socially acceptible. Never in the history of all earth's species has such a large phisiological change taken place so quickly as what has happened in the States. In one generation they have created a huge proportion of grossly obese people. They are trying to hide from the issue for many reasons but the simple fact is most of those people will die well before their time. More important is that those people will suffer from serious health problems long before their premature deaths. Aside from the suffering and early loss of life the cost to the economy in health care is also huge. It wont take long for us to have obese ( 400lb 14 year olds! ) children appearing here. Firstly the population need a reality check. Harney is obese. It is a fact. Not saying it only deludes her into thinking it is ok and fails to discourage more poeple from ending up the same way.
