Yes - Castlebar's pub of most promise is to become a bookies office. Old plaques for old battles give way to modern plastic go ahead betting premises.

And what about the riot in another big pub selling pints at 3 euros the night it finally closed its doors? Rumour is that it's to become an Eason's Bookshop - well that's better than a bookies and it might be more peaceful on a Friday night bank holiday!
