![]() As I drove to work this morning through the brisk, bright n blue morning I had one of those 'revelation' moments . . . I looked at the big ball of plasma firing off indiscriminate bolts of various energies into the surrounding space and looked at the rigid lump of molecules in which I, a watery bag, travelled at a velocity relative to the molecular mass in which I travelled and I composed a thought . . . Here I am anchored to this ball of silicone and iron which is covered by a lichen thin covering of what we know as life by a mysterious force than no one can really explain . . . it's all a bit weird really ain't it! This is not some cut & paste job I actually thought 'Weird, weird, weird' - I mean we tend to measure weirdness and chance in terms of say a third nostril or winning the lottery but really our mere existance is as strange a thing as ever could be expected. This is not something they teach you in school - there you get/got a lot of religious crap which is really just someone else trying to make you feel good about why it's all so weird and that sure there must be a wizard hiding behind a curtin somewhere. You know I'm glad I don't live somewhere where fine weather is so uplifting otherwise I'd never get anything done with all the thinkin' - might explain wht the Greeks and the Romans came up with so much stuff. |
