A genuine attempt was made to re-unite the original members of General Humbert when the closure & possible demolition of The Humbert Inn was first announced. Unfortunately it was agreed among Shay Kavanagh (whose every weekend is booked up for months with gigs) & John Donegan that it would require at least six months notice to unite the original line up. An effort was also made to contact Mary Black but she was out of the country at the time. Stephen Dunford was all on for a reunion & stated to only give him a date & he would be there!

Rory Summers is proving to be a bit of a mystery, but attempts are being made to track him down at his last know where a bouts to invite him to The Humbert's last traditional session at 6pm on Sunday 3rd. If he could someone could contact him, then maybe Stephen Dunford will be able to turn up as well. Two fifths of General Humbert is better none at all.

Frank O'Reilly & John Hoban who also used to play with General Humbert have been invited to session on 3rd. Frank was interested but is unable to attend & as yet there is no word back on John. But I think he plays in Stensons in Ballyvary on a Sunday.

Fintan Murphy is new development for me regarding The General Humbert history as it was many, many years after their time B4 I would have even be let on the premises. Could you please tell me which Fintan Murphy you are speaking of as I am only aware of the County Registrar of same name?

Also if you around yourself on Sunday 3rd, please call into The Humbert for its closing night or any other night from Thursday 31st. All are most welcome.
