Well in that case I'd call it an archive as the photos contained therein give a snapshot into the many and varied lives of the places and people of Castlebar and Mayo - similar images for their time such as the Wynne and Lawerence collections are held in very high regard by historians and archivists.

Someday someone may very well plough through this wealth of material to produce a thesis or otherwise.
