I would consider myself very much an Irish Republican and make no apologies for that but while I accept people's right to protest, I fail to see what opposing the singing of the English anthem will achieve. Driving a wedge deeper between the Irish and British will do nothing to engage with the British in achieving Irish reunification and it roars at unionism that the 'Republic' is no place for them. Bloody Sunday was not a long time ago but any apologies are for a British government not the English rugby team and its fans.

The media have shamefully hyped this up and come 5.35pm this Saturday we'll have all forgotten about it.
