I seem to remember reading somewhere that Ireland had the highest percentage of NON drinkers in the EU (this was when there was only 12 countries in the EU so this might not be the case anymore)

Of course this means that the level of consumption among those who DO drink is even higher.

RE: this "binge drinking" thing though does someone who doesnt drink all year and has five drinks at Christmas a "binge drinker" ? According to the official definition it would seem to be the case !
