Seems two people can take a different message from the same sermon. What I got was that the priests wanted to stress that no money from the envelope was being taken for the spire and yes that any money not raised in donations would come from the car-park money. Alao I felt that people who would like to give a donation were being invited to do so but I certainly felt no pressure being put on me to contribute. And I can't actually do so because I'm on minimum wage. And yes the priests are delighted that this response -if someone came along to me and said I'll finish off that bit of your house that needs to be finished for you I'd be delighted too.
