Hear, hear T. Moran, I couldn't agree with you more. You're right, it is a scandal & sending all the wrong messages!

I'm not the worlds greatest Church goer, but I'm still annoyed that in these times of confusion among Church goers with famine, shootings & natural disasters etc. an oportunity to hear & hopfully explain how even one of Jesus's Apostle doubted God's role in our lives - was briskly mentioned in favour of a long period of asking those present for financial aid to build a Spire.

Jesus himself was angry when traders took over the Temple & used it for their own purposes. I'm no authority on the Bible, but I get the impression that Jesus would be more impressed by encouraging greater numbers to attend the Church, than what the congregation or the Church itself looks like!
