Posted by Daz on May 05, 2007 at 20:30:28: In Reply to: re: re: re: re: re: "that's the profession they chose" posted by papercut pete on May 04, 2007 at 12:20:01: he's talking sense folks. the problem is that nurses have been doing the dirty work now for a long time in the irish health services while seeing every other health professional around them reap the benefits. they still have an extremely tough and demanding job, and they are still treated as second class health professionals by the powers that be. i believe that if the conditions nurses worked in were improved to the extent that WE the citizens of this country should be demanding anyway as patients and taxpayers, and they were paid at a fair rate given the changing times, than the 35 hour week might fade into the background somewhat.
