Thanks so much for such a detailed answer. I am in England, so going to Spencer street is not an easy option for me, as one poster suggested. I sent a letter to "Castlebar Bacon Factory" in the hope it might somehow reach the appropriate party. It sounds like I should contact the Avonmore Group.

It is really fantastic to receive so much help. I think it is worth chasing, even if the shares are worth next to nothing now:)
