The Pope has issued a new 10 Commandments but this time for drivers. The first 10 are as follows:

1. You shall not kill.

2. The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm.

3. Courtesy, uprightness and prudence will help you deal with unforeseen events.

4. Be charitable and help your neighbour in need, especially victims of accidents.

5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.

6. Charitably convince the young and not so young not to drive when they are not in a fitting condition to do so.

7. Support the families of accident victims.

8. Bring guilty motorists and their victims together, at the appropriate time, so that they can undergo the liberating experience of forgiveness.

9. On the road, protect the more vulnerable party.

10. Feel responsible toward others.

But there are a few more that the Pope on the Road forgot to mention but are equally valuable:

11. Though shalt not covet they neighbours top of the range Merc
12. Though shalt not drive like a lunatic
13. Though shalt not drive from the back seat
14. Though shalt not dial and drive
15. Though shalt not text and drive
16. Though shalt not spill hot coffee on thy loins while driving
17. Though shalt not throw sandwich wrappers, empty KFC Buckets, cigarette packets from the window while driving
18. Though shalt not go around roundabouts the wrong way
19. Though shalt not go straight through or turn right if you are in the left lane when using the Spencer Street Roundabout from the Moneen Direction as it is marked left only
20. Though shalt not use the Maryland rat race to avoid the traffic at John Hanley's junction
and finally:
21. Blessed are those who cycle, walk or take public transport to work or use biofuels and minimise their commuting carbon footprint!
