The owners of Ikea, Gucci and Homebase are all interested in Castlebar - they are vying with each other to get the planning to build a McMansion near McDonalds at the dead centre of Castlebar - i.e. near the old graveyard. Now that Veberley has paid dues to RTE all is legal again and no danger of being struck off and anything is possible in terms of future bevelopment of our beluved Castlebar.
