CJH was one of the pioneering politicians who came up with the idea of the IFSC. The IFSC has contributed 10 to 20 % to the Irish GDP in the last decade. Intel, Microsoft, Dell, Baxter, Boston Scientific, HP, IBM etc etc wouldn't provide a fraction of the income that the IFSC has to the country over the last decade. In my opinion CJD along with U2 were responsible for the celtic tiger economy. Why U2 ??? well I believe U2's rattle and hum tour in the USA did more to convince the pioneering emerging dot com business to feel comortable locating in Ireland than any thing else, in a way they put Ireland on the map they made our small country a topic of conversation. Before rattle and hum your average yank didn't know the difference between Idaho and Ireland. Of course the 10% corporation tax did the majority of the hard work.
