Were Fianna Fail playing in the World Cup? Now that would be a spark of interest in all this boring football stuff. Fianna Fail would be Germany and Fine Gael would be Italy.

And instead of the Second World War it would be a replay of the Civil War. But no that can't be of course Italy were on the same side as Germany during the Emergency weren't they?
