Aw come on - our politicians have and are still actively promoting ribbon development - people living in houses on narrow roads radiating out from every little village and town in the country. Castlebar's ribbon development extends for at least 10 miles in all directions. But do they provide footpaths? You must be joking?

Waht about a lwa forbidding people to walk right outside their homes in order to save their lives? I can see our 'lawmakers' lining up for that one!!!

People who live in houses need footpaths outside their homes.

A major report yesterday conclusively demonstrates the link between health and where you live. Suburban sprawl is bad for you - that was one of its major conclusions. You can't even go for a walk on the ribbon (left side or right side no matter) without some idiot driving at 80km/hour grumbling because they are looking at your ass instead of your t1ts! You are like an addict - you are 'car-dependent'

The speed limit should be 50km/h on the ribbon. Saw an excellent if gruesome TV advert with a kid hit by a car - you are 80% more likely to survive if you are hit by a car driving at 30mph than faster.

But fat chance when so many of our supposed lawmakers survive by selling and dealing in ribbon development that disregards all normal planning property or encouraging others to buy their wares or sell their land, etc.! We are now entering de-brun envelope amensia territory - here be dragons - the chances of them promoting a speed limit outside all the houses they have sold or granted Section 4s or 140s or passively sat by while the bad planning was allowed to extend the ribbon even further beyond the pale is absolute zero.

The body count continues meanwhile - relentless -more and more deaths every year - a plaque infinitely worse than asian bird flu. This year 218 suckers dead already creamed by speeding metal and it's only the wee 12th.

Was there ever a year in Norn when 218 people were killed by bombs and shootings at the peak of the Marching Season?

And they really won't do anything about it beyond mouthing off and issuing press releases blaming anyone but themselves.

Stay indoors folks.
