young people need hobbies, but it isn't up to everyone else to provide it for them.

the first step towards being an adult is not reaching some magical age where you're allowed to drink until your eyes roll, but rather it's taking responsibility for yourself in terms of actions and keeping yourself out of trouble and gainfully occupied.
