I think Anita Roddick had a sense of humour about these honours, as shown on her web site "1988 - OBE - Order of the British Empire (Other Buggers' Efforts, according to Sam, my daughter)".

I am sure she appreciated it's usefulness in support of her campaigning for human rights and the environment.

She worked bloody hard enough for her family and others and I for one think she was very deserving of this title.

I live about 4 miles from her home in West Sussex, and often saw her out and about. She appeared very approachable and warm.
