Should we get tougher on sentencing for crime.
Recently a man was sentenced to 5 years for causing the deaths of two motorcyclists in Kerry after drinking all evening/night and then taking a car without the owners permission, speeding and finally killing the two people. Is 5 years enough?
In the U.S. he would be facing 10 to 15 years for vehicular homicide. Should we have similar sentences here? I know if it were one of my family killed I would like to see the person jailed for a significantly longer period than 5 years.
