All this talk of "Language adapting and changing" is an attempt to mount a spurious defence of the indefensible.

Why should the invention of SMS messaging justify forcing us to accept the bastardisation of our written language?

Did the invention of telegraphy lead to people ending every sentence with the word STOP?
