Normally the national Census is only released after 100 years for obvious reasons and the reason it was released (a few years ago in amicrofilm form to county libraries),is because there was only one previous census; 1901 which survived the fire where they stored at the Four Courts,Dublin during the Civil War.
People researching family histories were grateful to have more documents & now it's been rolled out on-line nationwide.
