Limerick Civic Trust have restored the birthplace of Catherine Hayes, Irish Diva to its former glory & established a bursary in her memory.

Given that next year is the 50th anniversary of the death of Margaret Burke Sheridan would it not be appropriate that the council should acquire this building and establish a museum in honour of
her.

A biography of Margaret Burke Sheridan by Anne Chambers(also born at The Mall) was published in 1990 entitled “La Sheridan: Adorable Diva”

This would be more fitting than de-listing this fine historic and architecturally important building as proposed by our present Town Council. Surely our town fathers should have some sense of civic pride and not always be swayed by the interests of developers.
