You could be right look at the Governments of 1973-77 and 1982-87 both brought down by problems which were mainly not of their making. A world recession arising from oil price shocks did it in the seventies and the insane economic policies of their predecessors in the eighties.

With the $100 dollar barrel of oil (something we are not even experiencing the full effect of with the dollar in the toilet right now) 2008 wont be a good year to be in Government especially when the central banks put up interest rates in a futile attempt to curb runaway inflation.
