The problem is a couple of years back the cork county board relinquished the right to pick their own player selecters to the county manager. This year they had an overwhelming vote to reinstate the FAT cat rule that allows them to put their chosen people onto the team so they will get free holidays and cars and if they are any good they might get some advertisement campaigns. Billy Morgan thought this is sh1t so he resigned, the players were upset so they asked the county board "please don't assign a team manager until we have time to talk about this" What do the county board do...(same board that voted to keep foreign sports out of croke park) they appoint Holland as the manager. I think GAA was founded by players for players and the sooner they get remove all power from county boards the better. Its all about money at the end of the day. Years ago a man told me they used to be up to their knees in cash in the sportlann on championship final day.
