Last May the country voted in favour of personal greed and the right to continue to embrace the trap of capitalism and own your own 3 bedroom semi (built by patrons of the FF tent at the Galway races) in suburbia with a new car and a people carrier or a 4WD (sold by patrons of the FF tent at the Galway races) in the barely adequate driveway and the right to drive to the strip malls and suburban shopping centres (developed by patrons of the FF tent at the Galway races) late at night and on Sundays to spend your considerable disposable income on more consumerism. If you have the misfortune to get sick hopefully you will have put enough of your disposable income aside to pay for private health care so you can jump the hospital queues or go to a private clinic (set up by patrons of the FF tent at the Galway races) but otherwise, so long as you remain fit and healthy you can continue to turn a blind eye to those less fortunate than yourself. There are none so blind as those that refuse to see. |
