Can we admit that the Castlebar St. Patrick's Day parade is just an oppotunity for small buisnesses to get free advertising and it should be ended?

Yesterday's parade had two floats, one from Baxter and the other from the Boy Scouts, the other entrants were mostly businesses simply driving up Main Street advertising. Only a handful of elected representatives bothered to turn up, many I'm informed have taken to warmer climates on our money.
