the parade . . . the things you don't see . . .

Posted by Special UN Observer on March 18, 2008 at 11:42:05:

The sore hands of the baton twirling girls of St Anglea's - covered in plasters to help ease the worst of the pain (brings a whole new meaning to the product Band-Aid!!!). Weeks of practice, torture, sore hands, no writing essays for a week after this I hope . . .

The drunk fella asking the nice man in the fire engine if he can 'have a spin'? Ah yes those feelings never leave you.

The creak and crack of bearings as the largest of the speed boats gets hauled up the street, I was waiting for the headline today, Paddy's Day crowd crushed by falling speedboat.

The girl with the sore foot who was transferred from one parade group to another and the BIG cover up to make sure she was 'hidden' :-)

The fire brigade getting called away to an incident before they could get up main street.
