dirty washing powder

I was recently using a carton of a well known washing powder to do the laundry and instead of cleaning my clothes they came out dirty.
Well I showed the dirty laundry to the shopkeeper where I got the washing powder from and in fairness he checked the powder and found traces of a black substance in it. He then removed that washing powder from the shelf.
Well done Mr. shopkeeper.
