I'm sure this has been covered before, but it is still a major Health & Safety Issue and perhaps will continue to be an issue until there is an accident. The UDC or RSA built a two lane roadway through what was known as 'Bolger's' or 'Castle Street' Car Park. There are no footpaths whatsoever, no crossing points no warning signs. At the rear of what was Bolgers/Dunnes/Elvery's there is effectively a ninety degree bend. What other local authority would permit a 90 degree bend in a road. In the countryside there are extensive rules governing the 'line of site' for new houses and rightly so. For 50KM speed limit areas I believe it is 80 m. These rules have not been applied in this case. As I say maybe this has been covered before but maybe it needs to be covered again. I know how dangerous for parents of small children, I'm sure it must be a nightmare for persons who have a physical disability or visual impairment.
