Never got this smell that you mention; now in past times the smell of the Bacon Factory was bad I admit, but that provided great employment in hard times. As a matter of fact only for the Bacon Factory, I believe that Castlebar wouldn’t be the great town it is at present. Most of the big developers that started the trend in Castlebar owe there great fortunes to the Bacon Factory and the Hat Factory workers of the past.
