Yes that is true, but you come across good accommodation for cheap (if you look hard enough). I live in a really nice house on the southside and my rest is less than €400.00 PM which is excellent for the area. My friend who lives up the raod from me is paying €650PM and both rooms are the same (in fact mine is bigger) and she has no transport (luas, direct bus)...
