Its probably spyware rather than a virus you have "Adaware" and "Spybot search and destroy" are two good antispyware programs (Its ok to use both) make sure your definition files are up to date. Beware of stuff for download claiming to remove spyware which actually does the opposite

Some spyware actually attempts to block attempts to remove it by interfering with antispyware programs (stopping them working or updating properly) these require more advanced removal techniques (start by using task manager to disable suspicious programs and then running an adaware scan).

Worst case scenario youll have to reinstall windows and your drivers (you do loose all your files/programs/settings doing this) make sure you have all your CD's (and installation keys/code numbers) before you start
