I used to use AVG but Im not such a big fan of it anymore particularly since Version 8 came out.

In my experience It doesnt seem to work well with Win 2000/Athlon systems.

Im using bit defender at the moment. Its one of the cheaper security packages and a home licence covers 3 machines although one only gets an update subscription for 1 year.
