A micro black hole would be a bit of a bummer. But on a brighter note if a strangelet were created we would have at least 50 years before the planet is converted into a big ball of strange matter. :)
Anyhow, the ion smashing begins in late october. They are only injecting a beam of protons on wednesday I think!
