Yes people have paid over the odds and yes they must repay what they borrowed. It took more than bankers and developers to create the boom, it took ordinary people to join in as well. I guess thats the part that everyone seems to ignore. Most people were happy enough to participate because times were good and didn't take a proper look at what was going on.
