My one off house is an ecological dream house designed to the highest standards, it is screened from all the nearby roads and will not pollute local ground water as it will have it's own treatment system. It will be visible from the air but I don't think that will put off too many tourists now will it. I'd imagine badly planned towns with sprawling bland housing estates containing an inferior product will do more to damage the visual aesthetic that tourists come to enjoy.

If I have the site and the means to build a one off house that will not affect anyone else then why should I instead have to purchase an inferior product in a town? Especially when the product is overpriced and built to dubious standards by boom time developers.

My eco house will cost less to build both financially to me and environmentally to everyone else . . . it makes no sense to buy poorly designed & built homes but this country is setup so that Jo Shmo has to buy the cr*p that's out there.
