Just because someone believes in something doesn't make it worth commemorating that they were willing to kill another person for it.

War memorials are a fairly dubious subject, no matter what the conflict. If the Germans had won either war, we'd be hanging our heads in shame now that our grandparents were on the 'evil side' according to history.
