blackwater

would anyone know of area close to Castlebar called Blackwater: I have been told that my grandfather- Thomas Joseph Gallagher was originally from somewhere of that name: His family were evicted by English landlords at the end of the 18th century because of 'subversive sympathies' and the family was to have emigrated to America; but for some unknown reason they only made it to Cornwall on the English south coast and from there they eventually travelled up to the suburbs of London where they settled in the town of Twickenham, near to the famous rugby union ground when it was still only a cottage garden; hence the nickname - the Cabbage Patch.
Still, enough of me family history; apparently this Blackwater was probably a lake or stream of some sort and may have been out of Castlebar on the road to Foxford: I would be grateful if anyone could let me know of anywhere like I have described.
