All this is very nice and sentimental, words used by many emigrants who returned from England. But the reality is that whatever monies sent back to mothers and fathers by their siblings has been well claimed back in Social Welfare payments since their return. I personally dont know of to many Emigrants who returned from England and contributed much to our economy. Maybe some property developers and we all know what their agenda was. My question to you is if you are one such returned emigrant and you make such great claims, what did you personally contribute to our economy? I suspect not a lot as you are just another complainer jumping on the Celtic Tiger band-wagon. As for your remark about making life better and fairer, we here in Ireland elect representatives to do that for us and we will never rely on self appointed experts who run and panic when the going gets tough. You have nowhere to run now and in spite of yourself you will have to wait here and suffer with the rest of us. One thing I hope that our government does is to give social welfare handouts only to those that are unable to work because of disabilities or old age and that “dole payments” should be renamed “work payments” and only given to those that are prepared to work for the money.
